oh ya! and meg was there, too! we sure do love auntie meggi

bless you, baby

JD was blessed on Sunday, September 28th
We loved that so many family members were able to be there - all of my sisters were in town, plus my parents! J's parents also joined the party, as well as Tami and her crew. It was so nice having all of us together!

Some of our close friends drove up for it as well, and that meant the world to us. JD sure does have a lot of people lovin' on him!

J gave an absolutely beautiful blessing - I definitely cried. He received so many compliments on it, too. We were able to record it and I love that I can listen to it over and over and was able to type it up and put it in JD's baby book. It's so special, spiritual, and strong. I love it - and I know JD will love it once he is old enough to understand :)

JD wore the same blessing outfit that J wore 25 years ago. It is seriously just the cutest thing ever, and I love that they share such a special outfit.
jd was perfect during the blessing... but definitely wasn't a fan of taking pictures outside in the wind!

since jd was kind of a stinker for pictures, I put him back in the to.die.for outfit a few weeks after the blessing and snapped some more pics - his expressions kill me!

Two Months

We are just loving our life as parents! We couldn't ask for a better baby - sure there are definitely hard times, but who cares when you have a precious baby to snuggle and hold all day?!
This month with JD was super fun - he did his first real smile on Sept. 17th. His smiles are just theeee absolutely cutest thing on the planet. He has this little sideways smirk that just melts me. And then a giant open mouth smile that takes up his entire face...why I tell ya, swoon.

But when he is mad...ohhhhh he is mad. He kicks his legs like thumper and boy oh boy does he have a howl. He screams bloody murder, and the whole time all I can think is 'please breathe, please breathe!' ... this boy can go from 0 to 60 in a second flat. Luckily, it doesn't happen too often :)

JD loves lights, has fantastic head/neck control, blows bubbles, has become very aware of his tongue, loves to standup/straighten his legs, smiles responsively, and is gives the best snuggles ever

He still isn't quite sure of having his diaper changed, or taking baths - but he is definitely getting better! I was so so happy when we got through a bath without him screaming, it was like Christmas! Diaper changes are still crying fests 80% of the time, but if you're lucky he will smile and kick his loves and just lay on the changing table happily naked for ya

Oh, and JD grew 5 INCHES in two months - how is that even possible?! He got it from his daddy, that's for sure :)
