Sir Robert turns 96!

This weekend we were partyin' partyin' YEAH! As my darling Grandpa celebrated his 96th time around the sun. Sir Robert is my only living grandparent, and I feel very blessed to be living in the same state as him. There is no excuse for us to not go up and visit him, and each time we do it is such a treat. This man is a natural comedian, and never disappoints :)

Here are some GRANDPA-ISMS

Me: "Hi Grandpa! How are you doing?" Grandpa:"Worse."

Grandpa: "All you need in life is chocolate and hugs."

The first time Sir Robert saw Justin, and couldn't believe how tall he was:

 "Where are you from, Mars?"

Grandpa: "If you are ever in a fight with your spouse, follow the Nineteen Second Rule."

Me: "What's the Nineteen Second Rule?" 

Grandpa: "Hug for 19 seconds, and no more - cause if you do than it might lead to hanky panky!"

Not only was Sir Robert in attendance, but 3 out of my 6 sisters, my one and only brother, and my parents joined the festivities!

Sir Robert is my Dad's dad, and they have such a sweet relationship. My dad lives up in Washington, but he is always thinking of my grandpa, and making sure that his relatives living in Utah are looking after him. My dad is an accountant, so April is busy busy busy - but every year after tax season my dad makes a special drive down to Utah and spends a couple weeks with my grandpa. 

I am super sad that I didn't take more pictures - but every year after the birthday party, it is tradition to throw down in a Bradshaw Basketball game. Yes, my grandpa can still dunk! 

Sir Robert spent many years as a high school basketball coach, and I am so glad that basketball is a part of my family's life. It is so fun to be able to play in a family game with all the cousins, because even if you kick the other teams trash, you know they will still love you!

So, how's married life?

Happy 2 month anniversary to us! (Yes, we take any chance to celebrate)

What have we been up to the past two months? 

Well, we had our mini-moon in Park City. Complete with Thai food, shopping, massages, snow storms, and our very own personal jacuzzi.

 

Then, we road tripped up to Winthrop, WA for our reception and the Christmas festivities!

Festivities included carolling, sledding, Bradshaw basketball, horseback riding, ice skating, and Christmas, of course!

 

 Then we drove to Colorado Land for our Open House and New Years!

We played lots with Little Landon, spent an afternoon downtown, and even got to do a session in the Temple!

When we got back to Provo, we had a lot of work to do in our apartment.

These pictures show the mess that we made, I only wish I had taken pictures of our apartment before we moved in - our little apartment was previously rented by a cat-owning drug-doing mess-making smelly-smelling man. We spent hours and hours and hours deep-cleaning this place before finally moving in. All our hard work was totally worth it, because previously mentioned tenant left his $300 security deposit (free money for us!), and because our rent is cheaper than yours : )

It has been really fun doing little "fixer upper" projects for our home, and both of us love our little apartment.I will have to do a post about the fun crafts and projects we have done to spice up the place!

Life in Provo has pretty much been school school school. But we have been able to get out on the town a few times! We have been to the Provo Temple, scouted out the famous Waffle Truck, went bowling with friends, mini-golfing with ourselves, took advantage of IHOP on international pancake day, and watched BYU vs. SF.

We also spent a whole day without electricity in our apartment (good thing we have a gas stove!), threw a Valentine's party, and had dinner delivered by Madz, Spencer, and Meggi.

 I think it's safe to say that it has been a successful 2 months, indeed!

Here's to my Valentine...

Today was our first Valentine's Day together as a couple! Shout Hooray!

When I woke up, an egg surprised me by playing along in true Valentine Spirit!

When J woke up, he had a trail of paper airplanes leading him to his present. (This may or may not have been my first time EVER making a paper airplane...and I may or may not have googled how to do it ... ).

Not only does J love his Lego's, but this present was a way for me to tell him that I truly love and support him through everything.

When I went to work, J came by and completely surprised me with delicious treats. He got many "oooh's" and "ahhh's" from the ladies at work (so lucky he's mine!), gave me a kiss, and told me this was only a small thing compared to what I was getting later.

Later, I came home to fresh flowers in our home. Beautiful.

And, my favorite painting hanging in our bedroom. Perfect.




Last year, I was halfway around the world in Jerusalem on our first Vday as a "couple." I remember spending time organizing every single picture taken of J & me, so that I could make a cute video to send to him on Valentine's day. Justin wrote me a beautiful letter, and took the time to type up every text we ever sent to each other.I remember reading through all of our texts - it was like reading a beautiful love story all about us. Before all of the text messages, J wrote "It was really cool to see our progression... even through texts you can see us transform from immediately liking each other to long lasting love. I love YOU Bailey." 

And, I know that we truly do have long lasting love. I am so wonderfully happy that J & I made the decision to be sealed together in the temple, so that we can be together throughout eternity.

Justin and I are perfect in every way - this is something that gets confirmed to me more and more each day as I fall further and further in love with J. No one could make me happier, and I know that nobody else could make Justin happier.

So, here's to years and years of more Valentine's together!

This weekend J & I decided to throw our very first party! It could not have been more perfect: best friends, hilarious games, sweet treats, and fun memories.. AND we managed to fit 11 people in our teeny apartment, and I consider that in itself a success : )










I love all of these people with all of my heart, and I am so happy we all finally got together to play! Maybe I will just go crazy and start planning a St. Patty's party...
