Brand New Baby

finally getting around to posting some of the most precious images of our brand brand brand new family + baby

When I was pregnant, Our close family friend Angela of Angela Hatch Photography contacted me about doing a lifestyle maternity shoot. She was just kicking off her photography business and wanted to get some shots to add to her portfolio. I was super excited to get some shots of J and I with the bellay, and so we scheduled for her to come over on August 9th, six days before my due date. I thought this would give us plenty of time, because I was almost positive that baby would come late.
Little did I know, baby JD came 9 days EARLY! But alas, we kept the slot open and it worked out perfectly for Angela to come over and snap some pictures of 3 day old JD!
I treasure these images so so much. I love that we have pictures of JD when he was just the wee little babe that he was!

Three Months

Another month gone... another month older...
and I swear each month just keeps getting better and better!
This month with JD has been a ton of fun - he is so chattery and will talk back and forth with us all day long. We have no idea what we are talking about, but it is a deep conversation let me tell ya! There is a real connection, and you can tell he is really trying to talk back to us. The other day J said that he could already tell that JD would have a cute voice when he started talking, just from the sound of his coos haha :)

JD also discovered what a joy the bathtub can be! It is so much fun just watching him float in there, completely content. It's one of the only times he relaxes his arms (those things are always fist pumping). And he's an even bigger fan of the shower - we have to be careful not to stay in there too long!

Our JD Baby is so alert an curious about the world - his eyes are always big and looking around, trying to take everything in and see what this beautiful world has to offer.

We have been really surprised with how JD has figured out his own little schedule. He tells us when it is time for a nap and goes down so easily. And! He has finally dropped all of his night feedings but one - Hallelujah!

We are so thankful to have such a content baby. He is perfect during J's classes, takes the bottle without skipping a beat, and I'm getting into a good groove with him when I work from home. We can't believe what a blessing it has been for us to be able to manage this on our own - here's to hoping it continues going well for us!
