Monterey

our very first weekend trip from SF was down to Monterey, just the cutest little town ever! We went down for my SIL's birthday. Justin had just received his first paycheck from his internship so we felt like we could splurge a little :) We booked a night in a fancy pancy hotel right on the bay with magnificent views and absolutely delicious food. We spent the weekend at the Monterey Bay Aquarium, strolling the streets of the cute old cannery town, and driving the famous 17 Mile Drive - which is GORGEOUS! Not only because you see amazing ocean views, but you also see some pretty gigantic mansions along the way :)

also, jd made friends with a fish! he stood right up against one of the fish tanks and this one little fish kept playing peek-a-boo with him! The fish would swim up right next to jd's face, and then dive down out of sight. then it would pop back up next to jd again! this went on forever - it was hilarious! of course, right when I busted out the video that darn fish decided to disappear forever :(
